Peterborough & Stamford · Autumn Season 2026 · Entries open
The Onward Cup
A padel competition for pairs. Two divisions, five fixtures, played on your courts in your own time over eight weeks. It ends with a trophy at Smash Haus in front of people.
Why it exists
Nobody was running one here
Clubs run leagues for their own members, on their own courts. If you play at more than one place, or none of them, there is nothing for you. There is plenty of padel round here and no open competition for pairs.
So this one is not tied to a club. Enter with your partner, play wherever you like, and settle it at the end on one afternoon with a trophy on the table.
Where you live is your business. It is centred on Peterborough and Stamford because that is where the courts are and where most of us play. It is not restricted to anyone. Come from Cambridge, Huntingdon, Bourne, wherever. The only fixed point in the whole season is Finals Day.
How it works
Eight weeks, then a trophy
Enter as a pair
Not as an individual. Twelve pairs, seeded by your combined rating into two divisions of six. The draw is filmed.
Five fixtures, eight weeks
Round robin: you play every other pair in your division once. You arrange each fixture yourselves, in your division's WhatsApp group.
Your courts, your time
Book wherever suits, whenever suits, and split the court between the four of you. Onward hires nothing and books nothing. That is why it is cheap and why it fits round your life.
Top two qualify
The top two pairs in each division go to Finals Day. Two semi-finals, one final, one trophy. Winning your division is not a title, it is a qualification.

Finals Day
Smash Haus, Peterborough
Four indoor courts, a bar, and no chance of it being rained off. Two semi-finals, then the final, back to back.
Everyone in the season is welcome whether you qualified or not. The people who went out in the groups are exactly who we want in the room.

GBP 35 a pair
That is GBP 17.50 each, for five fixtures, a division, a table kept honestly, and Finals Day at Smash Haus if you get there.
It does not cover your courts. You book and pay for those yourselves, wherever suits, split four ways. Budget roughly GBP 30 to 45 per court, five times across eight weeks.
Twelve pairs only. If we do not reach twelve, the season does not run and you get your money back or roll it to the next one. That is our risk, not yours.
Before you enter
Please read the rules. They are short, and they are written so that one person with a spreadsheet can run this without refereeing arguments.

You have a squad number now
Name and number on the back cost nothing extra. It is sublimated, not stuck on.
