The game
This is padel
Doubles, glass walls you can play off, and a learning curve gentle enough to have you rallying within minutes. Padel is fast, social and gloriously addictive, and it is taking over.
The basics
A sport built to be enjoyed from minute one
Padel is played two against two on an enclosed court roughly a third the size of a tennis court. You use a solid, stringless racket and a ball much like a tennis ball, and the scoring is borrowed straight from tennis.
The twist is the glass: the ball stays in play off the walls, so rallies last longer and beginners stay in the point instead of chasing lost balls. It is the rare sport that is genuinely fun the very first time you play.

Why everyone is playing
It is easy to start, sociable by design and addictive from the first rally. Four players, plenty of chat, and a format that rewards positioning and teamwork over raw power.
That combination of a low barrier to entry and high enjoyment is rare, and it is exactly why padel keeps turning curious first-timers into regulars across Europe.
